I’m proud to announce that the 2017-2018 NFL Cornerback Handbook is now available for purchase.
For four years I’ve been charting cornerbacks in an attempt to go beyond the stat sheet and develop a method to add context to performance. My Coverage Productivity project has had success in recent years as it prioritizes process over results, and that’s helped predict the massive success of cornerbacks like Marcus Peters and Casey Hayward, while foreseeing the problematic play of Joe Haden and Josh Norman (click on their names for articles and examples of what’s to see in this Handbook).
I included all of the specific route performances and statistics allowed in man coverage and direct zone assignments in this book, going beyond what competitors are presenting. While they’re tallying passes defensed and turnovers, which anyone can do, this Handbook goes in depth on other 100 corners who played last year. Your team is covered with detailed numbers and a scouting report that reviews performance and projects forward.
If you want to see a different way of evaluating the position, this Handbook is for you. It’s not the end-all-be-all, and some results even shocked me, but it highlights a way to isolate play in a better manner. I’ve learned from two excellent coaching staffs (shoutout to Ashland University and the University of Houston) and am excited to share this unique way of evaluation.
If you’ve enjoyed my Twitter feed or past draft guides, I would greatly appreciate your support as it allows me to continue covering this great sport. You supporting independent writers such as myself makes all of the difference in the world.
After purchasing the Handbook, you’ll receive an email automatically with the PDF download. You’ll receive five downloads for you to use on your desktop, mobile or tablet. It works on every operating system. I accept credit card (via PayPal), PayPal, and Venmo. If using Venmo, please send payment to WhartonScouting and include your email address in the notes so I can personally send you the email.
If you have any questions, problems or feedback, please email me directly at [email protected].
If you’re on the fence about buying, please feel free to download this free sample booklet that will have a few reports, team cover pages, rankings, and stats.
